[資訊]養狗前的十大戒律-請想清楚

請您飼養寵物之前，一定要好好思考，接受牠的一切，並且了解牠的感受，用愛心去照顧牠唷！

1. My life is likely to last 10 to 15 years; any separation from you will be painful for me. Remember that before you adopt me.(我的一生可能只有十到十五年，任何與你的分離將會使我痛苦，所以在養我之前請先考慮清楚。)


2. Give me time to understand what you want from me; don’t be impatient, short-tempered, or irritable.(請給我時間，讓我理解你對我的要求。請不要對我沒耐心、急性子、煩躁。)


3. Place your trust in me and I will always trust you back. Respect is earned not given as an inalienable right.(請信任我，而我也會相同的信任你，尊重是經營出來的，它並不是被天生賦予而無可替代的權利。)


4. Don’t be angry with me for long and don’t lock me up as punishment; I am not capable of understanding why. I only know I have been rejected. You have your work, entertainment, and friends, but I only have you.(請不要對我生氣太久，不要把我關起來當作處罰，我只知道被你拒絕了，卻不能理解你為什麼這麼做？你有你的工作、你的娛樂、你的朋友而我只擁有你。)


5. Talk to me. Even if I don’t understand your words, I do understand your voice and your tone. You only have to look at my tail.(有時候和我說說話，雖然我聽不懂你的話，但我會認得你對我說話時的聲音，你要隨時看看我的尾巴，就可以知道我的感覺。)


6. Be aware that however you treat me, I’ll never forget it, and if it’s cruel, it may affect me forever.(請注意你對待我的方式，我永遠不會忘記，一時的殘忍可能會影響我一輩子。)


7. Please don’t hit me. I can’t hit back, but I can bite and scratch, and I really don’t ever want to do that(請你在揍我前先想想，我無法反擊，但我擁有利牙與尖爪可以輕易地咬碎與抓傷你，但我選擇不這麼作。)


8. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I’m not getting the right foods or I’ve been out in the sun too long, or my heart is getting old and weak. It may be I am just dog-tired.(在你責罵我『不乖』、『頑固』或『懶惰』之前，請你先考慮一下，是否有別的原因造成我的困擾，或許我沒有得到適當的食物，或許我太久沒有曬到太陽，或許我心臟已經老化而衰弱了，或許我精疲力盡了。)


9. Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old and may also need love, care, comfort, and attention.(請在我逐漸衰老的時候照顧我，別忘了，你也會變老。你也會需要愛、照顧、舒適和關愛。)


10. Go with me on difficult journeys. Never say, “I can’t bear to watch” or “Let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there. Remember, regardless of what you do, I will always love you.(要與你永別時，千萬不要說：『我不忍心看牠走』或『牠走的時候我不願意在場』；有你的陪伴，我比較容易面對一切。要記住，不論你做了什麼我永遠愛你。)
